Dentures

Modern dentures look nothing like what previous generations wore — they look like teeth, and they work like them too.

Losing multiple teeth — whether gradually or all at once — changes your face, your diet, and your willingness to smile. Today's dentures are crafted from materials that replicate the translucency and natural variation of real teeth, and they're fitted with far more precision than older generations of patients experienced. At De Anza Smiles, Dr. Saboowala takes the time to design dentures that fit comfortably, stay securely, and look completely natural — so you can eat, speak, and laugh with confidence again.

What It Treats

Types of Dentures We Provide

Full Dentures

Complete upper or lower dentures replace an entire arch of missing teeth. Custom-fitted to your gum contours for stable, comfortable wear throughout the day.

Partial Dentures

When some natural teeth remain, partial dentures fill in the gaps and clip to existing teeth. They restore aesthetics and function while preventing remaining teeth from shifting out of position.

Implant-Supported Dentures

Dentures anchored to 2–6 dental implants eliminate the slipping and dietary restrictions of conventional dentures. Implant support also preserves jawbone that conventional dentures gradually erode.

Immediate Dentures

Placed the same day remaining teeth are extracted, immediate dentures mean you're never without teeth during healing. A permanent denture is then fitted once gums have fully healed.

Denture Relines & Repairs

Existing dentures that have become loose or damaged can often be relined or repaired to restore fit and function — extending their life and your comfort.

Benefits

Why Patients Choose De Anza Smiles for Dentures

Eat a Full Diet Again

Well-fitted dentures restore meaningful chewing ability — you expand your food choices beyond what toothless or poorly fitted appliances allowed.

Facial Structure Preserved

Dentures fill the space left by missing teeth, supporting lips and cheeks and preventing the sunken facial appearance that tooth loss accelerates.

Clear Speech Restored

Missing teeth affect pronunciation of many sounds. Dentures restore the structures needed for clear, confident speech — in conversations, presentations, and every situation that matters.

Accessible Tooth Replacement

Dentures provide full-arch tooth replacement at a fraction of the cost of implants. Financing options make them accessible for virtually any budget.

The Process

How Dentures Are Made

1

Initial Consultation & Impressions

We evaluate your gum tissue, bone structure, and remaining teeth (if any). Detailed impressions are taken to create a model of your mouth that forms the foundation of your custom denture.

2

Try-In & Shade Selection

A wax model of your denture is tried in first so you can approve the tooth size, shape, and shade before the final version is fabricated. This step eliminates surprises.

3

Delivery & Fit Adjustment

Your finished denture is delivered and adjusted for ideal comfort, bite, and stability. Follow-up appointments refine the fit as your gums adapt in the first weeks of wear.

FAQ

Common Questions

How long does it take to get used to dentures?
Most patients adjust within 4–8 weeks. Speech and eating feel awkward at first, but the brain and muscles adapt quickly. We schedule follow-up appointments to adjust fit as gums settle and ensure your comfort throughout the adjustment period.
How do I care for my dentures?
Remove and rinse dentures after eating. Brush them daily with a soft denture brush and non-abrasive cleaner. Soak them overnight in water or a denture solution. Continue brushing your gums and any remaining teeth twice daily.
Why do dentures become loose over time?
Jawbone naturally resorbs when teeth are missing, which changes the shape of your gums and causes dentures to loosen. Regular relining every few years and eventual replacement (typically every 7–10 years) maintains a proper fit. Implant-supported dentures significantly reduce this bone loss.
Are implant-supported dentures worth the extra cost?
For most patients, yes. They eliminate the instability and dietary restrictions of conventional dentures, preserve jawbone, and feel dramatically more natural. The upfront cost is higher, but long-term comfort, confidence, and bone health make them an outstanding investment.
